I am originally from Hong Kong. I grew up in a general family with parents and grandparents who loved me and my three siblings. Playing tag and balls with the children in the neighbourhood after school, filling my stomach with deep fried fermented tofu, roasted sweet potatoes and baby castella stalls, it was a fun childhood in public housing estate.
My mother is passionate about Chinese home cooking, she has always prepared a bowl of soup as a gesture of love and care for family. I still remember she said that there was no lie in food. It is because you choose the good one, eat smart, and the nutrients are absorbed as they are.
After graduating from high school, I studied in commerce and clothing technical school and worked in a trading company. Then I found a job in a Japanese company. I became very interested in Japanese culture and working styles, and realized my dream of studying in Japan a few years later.
After graduating from Japanese university, I started my working life in a foreign country.
For the health of my family, I try to choose nutritious foods.
I like Japanese amazake. I was deeply impressed by the rich nutrition, depth and culture of Japanese fermented food.
